The Villa and its Halls
The Villa is located right at the top of the hill, at the end of the tree-lined avenue, and from here turning right you will enter the courtyard of the Church.
The Protoromanic Church, together with the gardens, the park and the square in front of the Villa this is what we encounter upon arrival. From here you can enjoy the entire panorama in all directions.
The entire ground floor of the Villa is used for big events, including the two frescoed rooms, the large kitchen with the fireplace and the old cellar.
At the Reception on the left of the courtyard of the church you will find our Receptionist to welcome you.
Sales premises
Our guests can buy wine , oil and vinsanto of our own produce at the shop…
“Buca delle Fate”
….or browse in the craft shop La Buca delle Fate, both next to the Reception.
Romanesque Apse
Continuing on foot along the boulevard past the church square you will arrive to see its beautiful Romanesque apse.
The Tinaio
…and the cellars, where in autumn we bring the grapes to boil and then we make our Chianti DOCG wine.
The Courtyard
Finally, beyond the Church apse, we return to the courtyard behind the old kitchen we mentioned above. The porch, furnished with tables ,chairs and benches, is well shaded and ideal for eating your meals in company.
It once served as a woodshed, and the wood-fired oven still exists.

Certano is ideal for longer stays: it allows you to fully experience everything it has to offer. To that purpose two apartments, Roseto and Scuderia, are equipped with a washing machine. For other apartments we offer a washing service at €15 per washing load.
It is very suitable for groups thanks to its size and architectural features of aggregation combined with privacy.
Tours of Borgo Villa Certano can be booked through our Receptionist: they include a visit to the frescoed rooms on the ground floor of the villa, the Romanesque church, the ancient underground cellar dug in the sandstone, and you can enjoy the best panorama of all from the clock tower on top of the Villa.
During the grape harvest season, which is typically mid September through mid October, you can see the initial process of wine making, from the grape harvesting in the vineyards to the grapes fermentation in the vats of the cellar.
