The estate is made up of rural constructions, restored and furnished for small apartment vacation get aways and relaxation in a wonderful and quiet setting in a panoramic position very close to the ancient town of Siena. Attached to the Villa there is a pre-roman church which according to records existed already in the 8th Century A.D. , at the time of the Longobard King, Liutprando.
Starting from September we harvest the grapes of Sangiovese, Merlot, Canaiolo, Trebbiano and Malvasi in the surrounding hills and we select them to create the Chianti del Colli Senesi DOCG, Vin Santo and IGT table wine. And in the late autumn , with the harvesting and milling of olives, we create one of the finest extra virgin olive oils in the world. Tourists come here to relax , away from the noise and smog of the city, where they can relive countless moments with sounds and smells of rural life of bygone times.

The Villa
Villa Certano, historical residence in Tuscany, is found only 7 km away from the center of Siena, in the heart of the Chianti Colli senesi hillside. Here you can have a holiday in perfectly restored country houses, reminding you of Italian farm traditions. You can relax in private apartments, furnished comfortably and in Tuscan rustic style, immersed in the peace and tranquility of the countryside.
The Church
The ancient church of Certano dedicated to Saint Michael Archangel is Romanesque and was built in the 13th century over the place of the pre-existing church donated in 730 A.D. by the Longobard king Liutprand. It is presently a private chapel attached to Villa Certano.
The Wine Cellars
In the estate of Certano there are three cellars of three different historical periods: the big winery built in 1906 by an ancestor of the Baldassarrini family and still used for the production of Chianti dei Colli Senesi, the cellar with the old barrels and the ancient cellar dug out in tufo rock.
